Experience

Lawyer specialized in Intellectual Property, with more than 27 years in Trademark and Industrial Property management. María Auxiliadora Jurado joined the firm in 1996, working in the Trademark Department in all matters related to applications, office actions, background searches and registrability criteria. In 1998, she was appointed Head of the Litigation Department where she handled all matters related to opposition, reconsideration and hierarchical appeals; two years later she assumed the direction of the Reports Department, where she supervised and managed the issuance of Certificates of Registration, Industrial Property Bulletin publications and the granting of trademarks.

Since 2007, she has been Head of the Transfers and Renewals Department, specializing in the structuring and drafting of license agreements, assignment of rights, affidavits, name changes and all matters related to trademark renewals.

Prior to joining the firm, Jurado accumulated seven years of experience in a well-known multinational food company, coordinating brand management. In addition, since 2012 she has been a member of the Regulatory Committee of the Interamerican Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and, since 2013 until 2016, she served as Vice President of the Venezuelan Association of Industrial Property Agents (COVAPI), and is member of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Venezuelan-American Chamber of Commerce (Venamcham).
